Chicken pot pie

Makes me think of home.

What you’ll need:

1 (8 oz) bag frozen peas & carrots (the diced mixed bag)
1 ½ c diced chicken
1 jar prepared chicken gravy
½ c shredded cheddar cheese
1 c biscuit mix
¼ c milk
2 eggs
Seasoning to taste

Preheat oven to 375. Combine frozen veggies, chicken and gravy in a saucepan. Bring to a boil, stirring often. In a bowl combine the cheese, biscuit mix, milk, eggs and seasoning. Mix well. Pour the chicken mixture into a casserole dish and top with the biscuit mixture. Bake for about 35 minutes until crust is brown and the filling is bubbly. Let stand for 5 minutes before serving.

gravy – $1.49/jar
shredded cheese – cheddar – $1.50
biscuit mix – $3.00
milk – $3.99/gallon
eggs – $1.09/ dozen
Total – $8.19
